International Student Festival in Trondheim, ISFiT 2007
The biggest, the greatest, the coldest... the Best!
Around
500 participants gathered here, on a clear and sunny but very cold
and windy weather, attended the lectures and workshops for ten days.
So many people, so many nations, so many cultures...

Long time we have waited to visit this lovely town on the north-west
coast of Norway. From 16th till 25th of February, town was the host
of International Students Festival in Trondheim 2007, the biggest
event of its kind in the world.
Around 500 participants gathered here, on a clear and sunny but very
cold and windy weather, attendedthe lectures andworkshops. Policy of
the organizers was very strict, so students didn't have much chance
to skip work and go to the town for sightseeing.
So after
morning lecture and workshop discussions we "enjoyed" lunch
and had some time to rest and have fun.
ISFiT organizers have planed one day of sport activities on snow where
we had a chance to enjoy cross country skiing and butt-racing on garbage
bags. So many people, so many nations, so many cultures, so many costumes...
One of the higlight events of ISFiT 07 was World Parliament experiment.
Delegations of whole the world discussed the problem of 50 years long
crises in Sudan trying to test democratic principals and making discussions
on a global level.
Parties!? Yes, there were a lot of them! Pics... well, due to very
strict alcohol policy in Norway, your reporter was thrown out of there
couple of times, so if you imagine the average good party attended
by several hundreds of people plus a hundred more of very beautiful
and very drunk (Russians are babies for them) Norwegian girls (the
smartest blonds I've met), then you'll be able to create your own
picture instead of me.
After
many sleepless nights, it was time for farewell photos, exchange of
contacts, hugs & kisses, promises that we'll see each other before
next similar occasion.
Thank God for the Internet! We have plenty of time to make plans for
next ISFiT. Next time we visit Trondheim we will beat that alcohol
policy, I promise! However, I doubt we'll be able to beat Norwegian
girls in drinking... Long live ISFiT!
