Belgrade Beer Fest 2007
Party time
The
expansion of festival space became an imperative after the last Beer
Fest, which demonstrated a significant boost in the number of visitors
with the tendency of further
growth. This year, the festival was expanded towards
Vidin Kapija, intended for the construction of another music stage
- Beck'sperience. This had a double effect: improvement of the music
programme and helping expand the capacity for additional number of
guests from the country and abroad

Older people walking around in Kalemegdan, just like
every day, were surprised when they heard some very loud music from
the Down Town of fortress on August 15. After that, thousands of people,
mostly young, could be seen going towards the place that was the main
point and association for fun, music, night life and beeer that days
in the capital of Serbia. There was no question from August 15 to
19 where you should go out in the evening: two music stages, great
performances, excellent bands and singers and thousands of littres
of beer - all brands, light & dark, big & small, cheap &
expensive... brought to Belgrade Fortress more than 600,000 people
to Belgrade Beer Fest 2007.
In
2006 there were many records crossed: 550,000 visitors, over half
a million liters of beer were drunk, 30 beer brands, 35 stalls, 45
music performances. This year even better and bigger! The recommendation
from the British Independent and the successful promotional
tour over Europe, including detailed presentations of the Belgrade
Beer Fest at the European Tourism Trade Fairs, helped increase the
already growing popularity of this manifestation
and attract an unusually large number of foreign visitors.
Belgrade Beer Fest intends to make an even more impressive breakthrough
on the foreign market. Data collected at the European Trade and Tourism
Fairs indicated that there was strong interest for this year's event.
And it really was! This year's Beer Fest was characterized by many
innovations and an even more festive atmosphere.
Dedicated to understanding wishes and demands of the public, the organizers
- Belgrade Cultural Network put maximum effort into constant improvement
of the festival programme. In that line, for the Belgrade Beer Fest
2007 the organizer did some structural and changes in the festival
programme.
The expansion of festival space became an imperative after the last
Beer Fest, which demonstrated a significant boost in the number of
visitors with the tendency of further growth. This year, the festival
was
expanded
towards Vidin Kapija, intended for the construction of another music
stage -Beck'sperience. This had a double effect: a dramatic improvement
of the music programme and helping expand the capacity for additional
number of guests from the country and abroad.
Despite the constant rise in organization costs and
growing production demands, the organizer granted free admittance
to the festival again. The festival was open for everyone, which has
been one of its trademarks from the beginning.
Weather was great for the organizers and all the people that attended
this big party place! Only one day there was a little worry about
possible rain but everything passed in the best way. There was no
any incidents (except some that could be expected with so many people
in concerts everywhere: too crowded, some fights...) and it was complete
success.
Belgrade Beer Fest is already setting new standards for all similar
manifestations, serving as a role-model event for other outdoor manifestations
in terms of organization, production, and realization.
