It
hasn't been a long time since I heard about this small city which
has everything for everyone : peace and quite for the middle aged
and no shadow of boredom for the young. The city of Galati is situated
not far away from the world wide famous Danube Delta, a unique place
in Europe due to its flora and fauna, not to mention its scenery.
Actually it is the perfect place for everything! Well, what about
a honeymoon full of special delicate liqeurs (due to a perfect climate,
the county of Galati offers some of the world's finest wines)!
Another interesting thing is that archaeological studies carried
out recently have proved that the north of the county has been inhabited
since the Paleolitic and during the Roman period an important settlement
was set up inside the walls of the present town. Fancy meeting your
ancestors there? Well you can't know what the future has in store
for you!
Galati is not only a holiday destination, but also a flourishing
commercial centre developed by trademen. You will have the unique
chance to familiarize with the worldwide Romanian customs and even
learn how to cook by yourself the terrific food. Locals love foreigners,
they are very hospitable and for sure you will enjoy your holiday!
Most of the hotels are very luxurios. But what if you are tired of
classical journey with too many facilities? Well, you have a solution.
In this region a special type of tourism is developing. You cam simply
stay at small villas together with a family. It's a unique opportunity
for intercultural exchanges and I guarantee that it's simply marvelous.
Galati has also become an important cultural centre. There are several
museums that offer important info tours for visitors. But what appealed
to me most was the incredible voyage we had on the Danube. We reached
that area which is much more beautiful than you've seen it on TV.
Do no hesitate! You should refer to some books to get a good grasp
of this part of Romania!
