Political Crisis in Bosnia & Herzegovina
One Step Forward or
Two Back
"There is no way to over-vote Serbian people",
said Miroslav Lajčak adding that he is very serious and not acting like
a cowboy wanting to change the Constitutional Law of BiH. "I also
have my personal dignity and there is no force to make me do something
I do not agree with". He mentioned that politicians from Serbia
always talk about Republika Srpska and very rarely about Bosnia and
Herzegovina... >>
After resignation of the President of Ministery Council
Nikola Špirić vs. Miroslav
Lajčak
According
to the Law on Ministery Council BiH, Prime Minister's resignation means
that the government is falling down and members of the Council will
perform their duties only technically, until new government is established
Reactions from the neighbourhood
Serbia supports Republika
Srpska
"Lajčak's measures are aimed to break down Resolution 1244 and
Deyton's Agreement - actually proclaiming independent Kosovo and abolition
of Republika Srpska. That's an open threat against Serbian people",
said Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Koštunica

The heritage
of Che Guevara
He had his own ideas on how a
social revolution was to be established. Some claimed that time was
needed first, in which the working class would have to be fully formed,
so that later capitalism could be overthrown. Guevara however did not
agree. Even if capitalism was not at its peak in that time, he felt
any injustice to the working class was enough to justify a revolution...

Middle East situation
Genocide
resolution, Verbal Crime and terrorism
For most Turkish citizens, it
is hard to understand why other countries are interested in this issue,
which should be solved between Turkey and Armenia. Especially for those
who didn't live near these lands. And it is harder to understand how
it can be called a "crime" to express an opinion in a European
country while those countries blame Turkey for not respecting the human
thoughts... >>

Cyrillic Alphabet
Tradition against
Unification
Despite all the problems, many Slav scholars point out that other countries
- like Israel, Japan and China - have chosen to preserve their ancient
alphabets. It did not seem to affect their economic ascendance. And
cyrillic captures better the consonants and vowels unique to Slavic
languages, they argue persuasively... >>

Branding Serbia
Sights and
Sounds
The
nation's brand can be defined by the people, by their temper, education,
look, by their endeavours, but also, by economy, tourism and by products
it offers. It is very hard to change one nation's values. For this reason,
when it comes to nation branding, a long term strategy is needed...

In memoriam: Toše Proeski (1981-2007)
The Balkans have lost an angel
Croatian
singer Tony Cetinski , on hearing of the tragedy, had only good words
to say about his one-time duet partner: "He was a man like I'd
never met before, one of a kind. He had enough
love and goodness for everything. We were so close that we even called
one another 'bruv'. Despite the fact that he was young, he was wise,
modest, kind and good. He died far too young. We spoke every time he
came to Croatia. Our work collaboration was the fruit of a friendship,
not interest. I still can't believe he's gone. His tragedy goes to show
the side of our work that people neither see nor understand. what risks
we run every time we go out"... >>
