Happy Birthday, WAVE!

Issue No.1 of International Youth Web Magazine "WAVE" was launched in November 2006, with a virtual editorial office and lots of emailing contact. Most of the people still didn't meet each other face-to-face but that didn't stop us in our work. This month we celebrate the first year and the first birthday of WAVE magazine. Take a look at some impressions of our team members:

"Over a year ago, a group of young Europeans gathered in Belgrade for the first International Student Week in Belgrade. A week together in a vibrant city, only good can come from that! So the idea arose to start an online youth magazine. Luckily for me, I was contacted as well to join, even though I had not attended ISWIB. And so it began…

With a virtual editorial office and lots of emailing contact the brainstorming and preparations, inboxes filled with ideas and comments we started our task. Although I had never met any of my colleagues before, I could almost smell their enthusiasm through my computer screen. And then the moment of truth arrived: our first child, the first issue of November 2006 was online.

That means we are celebrating WAVE's first anniversary, so congratulations are in order: Happy Birthday, WAVE!

Although I have to admit that communication through email has its limitations, I have enjoyed every second of my work for WAVE in these twelve months. The magazine gives room for creative contributions, and, most of all, we can all learn from each other. The best asset of WAVE is different angles all the editors provide. So WAVE, keep on doing the good work!"

"Approximately 15 months have passed since a nice idea of youth e-magazine was born. Although I was not sure that it would become real, with an amateur passion I was volunteering for writing something. Anything... Since I didn't know that writing an article is that hard, I had no idea what I started to mess with. That was really tough but, frankly, I didn't care - I tried to do my best and leave the rest to chief editors. I think they got used to clean up my aticles - thanks them by the way - even in most of the issues I was too busy to write an article, I kept reading those nice works from web. I am proud to take part in this. I hope that our WAVE will be greater than TsuNamis. Happy birthday, baby..."
