After resignation of the President of Ministery
Council
Nikola Špirić vs. Miroslav Lajčak

After
decisions made by Miroslav Lajčak, president of Ministery Council of
Bosnia and Herzegovina Nikola Špirić resigned, with the explanation
that he was not satisfied with the situation in BiH. Also, he accused
international community of forcing measures that didn't help Bosnia
& Herzegovina. Nikola Špirić considers that with these actions High
Representative works against Serbian people and he explained that his
resignation was not his will just like that but he didn't want to take
part in further creating bad situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to the Law on Ministery Council BiH, Prime Minister's resignation
means the government is falling down and members of the Council will
perform their duties only technically, until new government is established.
Prime Minister of the Serbian government Vojislav Koštunica said High
Representative Miroslav Lajčak was actually the one who should have
resigned because he did against Deyton's Peace Agreement and he was
guilty of the actual crisis. Russia is also worried after Nikola Špirić's
resignation and officials of the Russian Federation consider that it
would have been more productive if actions had been taken in a more
stable environment.
HR Miroslav Lajčak thinks that Špirić's resignation is his personal
right and choice but he doesn't find that move accountable because that
won't calm down the political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He
also finds paradox in his resignation because of decisions that should
improve efficiency of institutions. Replying to Vojislav Koštunica,
Lajčak noticed that he respected his authority and rights but also expected
from him to respect High Representative.
Politicians in Republika Srpska support Nikola Špirić in his decision
and consider his act logical in this situation. President of Serbian
Democratic Party (Srpska demokratska stranka, SDS) Mladen Bosić said
this resignation was just what Špirić had announced after OHR decisions.
Bosnian Party of Democratic Action (Stranka Demokratske Akcije, SDA)
consider that Presidency of BiH shouldn't accept Nikola Špirić resignation
because they think there is no reason for that. Leaders of this party
are aware of the fact that this will make crisis even worse and that's
why it is the best for him to keep working as Prime Minister.
