Editorial
Dear friends,
one more year is closing to the end, we are only couple of
weeks far from new 2008! The period behind us brought us many news on
football. Unfortunately, not all of them were about sports but about
gambling and suspicious bets on some matches, Italy faced with new wave
of hooliganism and fights of fans and police, the same was in Belgrade
football match... But also Euro 2008 qualifications are finished and
we know who will play in Austria and Switzerland. It seems like football
became much more than only a game and we could agree sometimes fair-play
is not on the first place.
Starting with this month and our December issue, we keep improving WAVE
magazine and we decided to refresh some pages more often. So, don't
worry, monthly issues will be here like so far but there is a new section
called "World News", and that will be daily updated with short
forms, new information and interesting links. That means you will have
more reasons to visit our website regularly and you don't have to wait
so long for new topics. Anyway, it's a different kind of articles and
we hope to get your feedback and comments on new section.
The most actual topic in the last period, so in our December issue also,
was football and everything that was happening around: Euro 2008 qualifications,
suspicious bets and gambling, hooliganism... Belgium is still in political
crisis and we have an article from our colleague there. Also we covered
Russian Parliamentary Elections and have interesting story after Argentina
got the first woman for president! About women rights and gender equality
more in Society section, as well as about Serbian traditional holidays
and the future of mass media. The second PR Week was held in Belgrade
at the end of November and in Culture you can find more about actual
events around Europe this month. Web Fest was promoting internet and
check out why iPhone is one of the most important technological inventions
this year. Eventually, you can celebrate New Year on the famous Brazilian
beach Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro!
