It become tradition that the end of a years is usually fullfilled with annual actions of Serbian Green Youth (SGY). That's why, for the second time, SGY members made an action of "selling" free hugs to the citizens of Belgrade. With this action Serbia joined to the list of countries having "Buy Nothing Event" which is usually held at the end of November every year. Aims of the action are that people question basic concept of consumership society - unnecessary over consuming - mass production, success losses of real human values, and separation of people from nature.

During the Climate Change Action week which was held by Federation of Young European Greens in the frames of its campaign "Keep it Cool", Serbian Green Youth held an action on 8th December, named "Stop Climate Changes, Play Your Part". Actions were also held in more than 100 countries all around the world parallel with the UN Climate Change Conference on Bali island.

With this action we wanted to introduce our citizens with the issue of Climate Changes, as with the ways how individually they can help in solution of it. Together with general things, like better care for flora and fauna, every individual can help with more rational energy spenditure in everyday life, avoiding usage of obscolence, damaged high consume energy devices, avoiding unnecessary usage of transport devices, more rational shopping and become more active in the process of recycling. Members and Activists of Serbian Green Youth were sharing the "recepies" with advices how with your own acting to bring to the fight against Climate Changes. Action was held in the main street of Belgrade Pedesterian Zone, in Knez Mihailova.

Annual campaign of Serbian Green Youth is Protection of New Years trees. This year it is the sixth in a row which SGY Members are doing. "We are very happy with the progress made in this field and that City authorities, as well as the state institutions, raised their efforts to prevent illegal cutting and selling of the trees". This year our Activists were costumed in large trees (not the same costumes like last year, and year before last year), and were giving advices to the citizens how to raise chances that their New Year tree survive during the holidays. We are currently negotiating with Municipality of Savski Venac (Belgrade municipality) that they arrange free transport of the trees on their territory. SGY will be responsibile for collecting data of citizens want this service, and as supervisors.

For the end, here are some tips for your tree also:

* Buy the tree with the biggest bag of soil
* Do not have your tree inside more than seven days
* Put your tree in a big pot
* Do not forget to water it (not too much), and spray water on it every day
* Do not put it near the heat source
* Do not cut the top of the tree, avoid cutting branches
