The biofuel dilemma
Saying
that the recent global food shortages and the raise in inflation in the world
happens because of biofuels production is "an exaggeration". This opinion
is shared between Brazil's current president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and also
by the former president of the country, Fernando Henrique Cardoso. The latter
one considers that the crises comes from a sudden raise in the world demand for
food. But he says he believes the crisis is temporary... >>
Brazilian flying priest Technology
can't always save you Aderli
de Carli, 41 years old, is missing since April 20th. He departed from Paranaguá
city, but disappeared near the beach a few miles away, after 4
hours of flight. The bad weather turned him to the sea. Since he was carrying
a parachute, he could have ejected himself somewhere in the middle of the path
he flew. But a handful of his balloons were found in the middle of the Atlantic
Ocean, near São Francisco do Sul, in Santa Catarina's state coast, which led to
the idea that he might have fallen into the sea. Since then, thousands of U.S.
dollars have been spent in the search of the priest Brazilian

future scenario, Human Life Amendment would put decision about abortion back to
the states and it is most likely that New York, California and the District of
Columbia would be the only places in the United States where a woman could legally
get an abortion. ProLife movement is pronounced as right wing movement by political
sociologists exactly because it's opposed to new feminist movement and demand
of their proponents that women should have right to make decisions concerning
their bodies... >>

Society Malta
Of Bird and Guns
In the heat-lashed early days of autumn, dusty Malta hardly seems like the Garden
of Eden, but it is a welcome enough sight for tired and thirsty hundreds of thousands
of tired birds migrating between their European summer breeding grounds and the
warm winters of Africa. In total, over 170 different species of birds see the
tiny Maltese islands as a perfect stop for a bit of rest and recuperation but
many of them are given a rude welcome by the estimated 15,000 Maltese hunters
waiting for the perfect shot... >>

Yes, We Can!
"Knowing methodology of research and finding a good
mentor are keys to a good student work", says Majda Br?i?, student of the
Faculty of Medicine from Tuzla, Bosnia & Herzegovina. "And like professor
Di Angio from United States said, it doesn't take much to fall in love with research

already standing on the shoulders of giants"... >>

Withdraws Bid for Yahoo Microsoft's
decision to abandon its pursuit of Yahoo is not necessarily the last chapter in
the three-month-old saga. If Yahoo's shares fall significantly, the company will
be under intense pressure to act, and may choose to resume negotiations. Earlier
this year, under intense shareholder pressure, BEA Systems did just that, agreeing
to a takeover by Oracle soon after Oracle dropped an unsolicited offer it had
made for BEA... >>

Ronaldo himself is a very good reason to see Portugal as one of the favorites
for the title of European champion. Germany have won the European title three
times, more than anyone else, but - Germans have not won a match in the final
tournament of a UEFA European Championship since winning the competition in 1996.
French are the only other country to have won the competition more than once following
successes in 1984 and 2000. Who's next?... >>
