Best Fun in the Museums!

One of the biggest culture manifestations in Serbia celebrated its fifth anniversary this year! The birthday was celebrated offering many unique exhibitions, performers and interesting fashion shows, as well as good music concerts. Manifestation has once more approved and continued great museum fun, considering that it noted over 450.000 entrances in the museums

One of the biggest culture manifestations in Serbia, Museum Night, took place on May 17, in 23 cities and more than 150 locations. All interested people had eight hours of their time, from 6pm. to 2am, for great night out in the museums and galleries. Manifestation has once more approved and continued great museum fun, considering that it noted over 450.000 entrances in the museums.

Belgrade's Museum Night celebrated its fifth anniversary this year! The fifth birthday was celebrated offering many unique exhibitions, performers and interesting fashion shows, as well as good music concerts, altogether on 63 locations in the city and in this way noted almost 300.000 visits in museums and galleries.

Great number of locations, interesting content in the museums and good city zone division for easier and faster walking through the Museum Night, helped the visitors to shorten the time spent in ques and helped all the interested to visit as many possible locations as they could. The most interesting locations had their long ques anyway.

The most visited locations in Belgrade were: The History Museum of Serbia (The Assassination of the Emperors), The National Bank, The Ethnographic Museum (Play, Fiddler, Play), Manak's House (Nudes of the XX century), The History Museum of Yugoslavia, Military Museum, Duchess Ljubica Billet (Street Time 1900 - 2000), The Museum of Pedagogics (School uniforms), as well as the University of Belgrade, which hosted the Belgrade Mummy for the first time in last hundred years.

Novi Sad has took part in Museum Night for the second time and enjoyed in the museum fun on more than 30 locations. There were noted down 100.000 visitors in the museums. The most interesting locations for the visitors were The Museum of Vojvodina, The Museum of Conteporary Art and City Museum's Collection of Foreign Art.

Valjevo has opened 12 museums and galleries and noted down almost 5.000 visitors. The most visited location in Valjevo was The National Museum and its exhibition "Fashion of the 60's". Although it has been raining in Sabac that was not a problem for its citizens to go out and note almost 10.000 visits on 12 locations, and the most visited location was the Arts and Crafts School as well as the Library. Zrenjanin noted this year the biggest number of visitors in its National museum, and althogether the number of visits of 5.000. Kragujevac first participation in Museum Night justified the number of 2.000 visitors, and as well as in other cities, one location conquered the hearts of the visitors, and that was the Dutch Mihailo Billet.

"Nightmuseums" fun was for the first time organized in Pancevo. Pancevo noted down 3.000 visitors during the manifestation, and the National Museum was the most visited location, which was seen by over 2.000 people! The second most visited location was the backyard of this Museum in which fancydress ball was organized. Uzice noted almost 5.000 visitors, and the most visited locations were "The Skin Speech", "Uzice, Begining and Development" and the Mihailo Milovanovic's Legacy.

The Museum Night is realized under the patronage of the Belgrade City Hall and other local City Halls of the cities which participate, and with the help of Serbian Ministry of Culture.
