"WAVE" No.21
July 2008

Editorial

Dear friends,

summer has come to Europe and the rest of Northern part of the world. And it becomes quite hot on political and economics scene globally. Prices of food and fuel are rising and G-8 summit in Japan didn't bring any revolutionary decision. EU has its problems, too. At least sport brings some happiness to its fans, many championships are playing right now and we are all looking forward to Olympics in Beijing. Wave magazine sends you the best wishes and hopes you will spend summer at the seaside, or wherever you feel good.

We are keeping our promises and Serbian edition is ready to start from this issue. Of course, it's still a beginning, so give us some time to make it perfect. No.21 will be available in few days and then you will be able to read our magazine in two different languages. The idea is to make it more localized in next months, means most of the articles will be translated from the main, international edition, but there will be some differences, too.

We decided to tell you more about the hot topic of neonazism, as it became really actual with discovering some nazi war criminals, accused but still enjoying their freedom. Irish referendum on Lisbon Treaty just made European Union to keep on discussing the future of the Old Continent, and Swedish authorities decided to allow some Big Brother methods protecting its citizens. International Press Institute held its congress in Belgrade with very interesting debates on journalism, and the organizers of European Youth Week in Novi Sad are very busy preparing their festival in August. One more hot topic comes from Turkey, about banning the rulling party and question of headscarves. Starting from July, we are researching on the future of Serbian scene and artistic schools. And Bill Gates retired leaving Microsoft to think about its future. Read about neuromarketing if you always wondered why do you buy something. Wimbledon has its new champion and Euro 2008 brought us new football idols.

Enjoy your reading!
