No.32 June 2009 Editorial
Dear friends, I am not
sure is it about the summer but it seems like things are becoming different. Citizens
of European Union are not interested to vote in elections, economics is going
down and some famous industries are broken, Eurosong has its new voting system
and a new winner, of course! So, WAVE magazine has its new release date
but we promise this delay will be only for this month, as it was caused be some
unpredictable conditions. Already in July, while you are preparing for summer
holiday, new issue will be online between 10th and 15th. I hope you trust to us.
One more new thing - we made a new monthly record in unique visits on our
website! We had about 32,000 visits to wavemagazine.net in May and that
is what we consider your win. Yes, our readers told us we are doing well and also
motivated the whole WAVE team to work even better. Because records are
here to be beaten, right?
European elections are Topic of the issue for
our June issue. In this section you will find analysis and comments after "the
Old Continent" voting. In Politics there is more about Europe, actually two
interviews - a kind of debate on future EU enlargement. We also bring you a story
about Sri Lanka peace. Society section brings to you an impressions from foreigner
living in Netherlands and one interesting story from YouTube. No, not the usual
one. World financial crisis is still actual, so where is the place of youth. That's
what we are trying to explain in Economics. And connected to that, Rupert Murdoch
has announced his online publications will not be for free anymore. Let's see
how he imagine the future. In Culture & Arts we have an interview with young
opera singer, and story about one music band. Also we have visited traditional
Night of Museums. Our Brazilian correspondent writes for you about Humberto Maturana
in Science & Tech. The second Grand Slam Tournament of the year - Roland Garros
has brought some changes and surprises, so Rafa is not the king of Parisian clay
anymore. And finally, prepare for EXIT festival, it's so close!
Enjoy your reading! Marko
