Being a European
"I
watched the inauguration of Barrack Obama. That is a creative nation with a strong
will. The remaining nations namely China, Russia, India are developing. They are
not waiting for Europeans. Time is not on our side, we must speed up" - Dr
Jochen Thies... full story

I
love the linguistic mix too, and the small conversation groups that form based
on a common or similar language: Czech and Slovak, Austrian and German, Greek
and Cypriot. Most of us, however, can't pronounce each others' names anyway, so
by day 3 we've given up and are simply referring to people by their country: "Have
you seen Malta?" "No, ask Hungary" By ANNA
PATTON from Brussels, BELGIUM (EYJA

Prizes
don't boost anything, except in minds of some bosses. They are just milestones,
telling you that you might be on the right road and you should continue challenging
yourself and to work and improve even more. Prize doesn't mean you've achieved
anything yet, but it's more of a good sign: a smile in a grocery store or a sudden
free beer By JANNE TOIVONEN from Helsinki,

EYJA 2009 - Postcard of Berlin
Past
and Future in the same place
Neither
the time nor the fire and the chaos were able to destroy the border between two
opposite ideologies; between two political, social and economic conceptions. Actually,
these feelings are much more intense inside the building. What about the old metal
boxes labelled with the names of the members of the German Bundestag democratically
elected between 1919 and 1999? What do you think about the wall occupied by some
Soviet soldiers to write their briefs messages in order to celebrate their victory,
and the new glass chamber to define a "transparent" and "modern"
Government? By ISABEL BENITEZ from Sevilla,
