"WAVE" No.46
August 2010

Editorial

Dear friends,

summer is a good period for taking a break, travelling to seaside or countryside, but it is also a good timing for summer schools, conferences and festivals that you don't have time to attend during the year, because of faculty, exams, job... If you want to improve yous skills in different fields, these are great opportunities to learn and have fun with your old and new friends, especially in international environment. That's why we decided to present you some of them this time, beside our already well known project of student week in Belgrade, you can read about leadership, journalism and socialdemocracy, and hopefully apply for some of the next editions.

As we already told you in July, International Student Week in Belgrade, ISWiB 2010 and its Media workshop brought us new correspondents and associates, so you are able to read some of their articles this time. And we also have more stories on summer schools, hoping all those participants will become our new readers.

Topic of August issue certainly is International Student Week in Belgrade, in all of its aspects. Politics is about International Court of Justice and its opinion on Kosovo's declaration of independence, and there is also analysis on concept of Jihad. Society brings more summer schools, like Leadership summer school in Slovenia, European Journalism Institute in Prague, and Week of socialdemocracy in Serbia. There is also a first part of research on youth employment in Spain, and story about ban of wearing some specific clothes in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In Culture & Arts you will find an interesting interview with professor Ratko Bozovic, sociologist of culture, and music review of BELEF 2010. Science & Tech is from Brazil again, with Brazilian doctor who holds out against the world's third largest traffic: animal trade, and with trends in social networks. Sport has a story from Netherlands, after last month's story from Spain, after football World Cup, and an interview with young Bulgarian volleyball coach Cveta Coneva. At the end, Entertainment brings a story on family without borders and their travelling around, as well as on East European Motor Show in Romania.

Enjoy your reading!
