No.20 June 2008 Editorial
Dear friends, so many
global events are behind us in the last period: Eurosong in Belgrade, Roland Garros
in Paris, FAO summit in Rome. Some of them are just going on: Euro 2008 in Austria
& Switzerland, EU-USA summit in Slovenia. Some of them are coming, like Exit
Festival in Novi Sad. Have a nice time there! But the summertime is coming and
I guess many of you are planning to find some free time and enough money and go
to a nice beach. Well, you should definitely relax at the seaside during the hottest
months in the year. And destination is only your choice. Anyway, we hope your
laptops will be online.
As you could see, few days ago we started a special
section dedicated to European football Championship in Austria & Switzerland,
Euro 2008. We are trying to bring you fresh news, results, tables and information
on this great sport event. Our plans are to keep doing like that and we can already
announce special sections on Wimbledon tennis tournament (from June 23) and in
August during Olympic Games. If you have more suggestions, let us know because
we want to hear your voice.
Working as a journalist becomes more and more
dangerous, especially in some regions of the world. That's why we bring you stories
from Asia and from Global Media Forum. Elections season arrived to Macedonia -
parliamentary, and U.S.A. - presidential (candidates for November race). European
Youth Panel is brought to you by our new Bulgarian correspondent and an interesting
story comes from Brazil, where uncontacted Amazon tribe is discovered. Food crisis
is the most actual topic recently, after FAO summit in Rome. This month we bring
you lots of cultural events - Young European Laboratory of Theatre is starting
with its project, Museum Night was held in Belgrade for fifth time and the capital
of Serbia was host of Eurosong, too. And the second Grand Slam of the year, French
Open in Roland Garros has its new and old winner, Ana Ivanovic and Rafael Nadal.
Enjoy your reading! Marko
